Lunch? not!
Mostly walked around today taking building top photos. Subway shop sign was a laugh! This neon sign was kind of hidden, a classic! first one I've seen here. Went to a Burgandy wine tasting tonight- producer Nicholas Potel. There were 8 and six people showed so we took two of them home! Quite nice, two stood out from the bunch.

Hawkes Bay... Napier & Hastings
Monday was labor day holiday here, for most a 3 or 4 day weekend. We traveled up north to Napier, the art deco town. It suffered a massive earthquake in 1931 which destroyed the city. They rebuilt- in the deco design. I've been taking photos of the deco architecture in Napier, in Hawkes Bay region which is also noted for their great wines. We've spent 4 days in the area exploring the countryside, visiting the wineries, Craggy Range Winery stood out, facing Te Mata Peak, a beautiful view from there tasting room. We drove to the top for the view, stunning. Stayed a night on the marine beach road, similar to Miami's South beach was in the 50s. Then moved out to a cottage in a small country town: Clive, between Hastings and Napier. There are cows, a 3 day old calf, sheep, beautiful skies, windy, sunny weather... The beach is just there, walking distance, with black pebble sand... Another beautiful, sunny day today!
